HT-CT100 Has Evolved : HT-CT500 is Unveiled by Sony

From here,

Sony has been making some big decisions lately about which products to improve and market heavily and which ones to scale back on. In the 2008 Sony released the HT-CT100. A two-part system; a small soundbar and a decent subwoofer. The problem was the amount of subwoofer-based connection jacks. Basically, it was a hassle to set up but was otherwise a decent single-speaker audio setup.
Now Sony has decided to step it up a notch.

The HT-CT500 takes all of the good parts of the HT-CT100 and gets rid of the nasty mess. John P. Falcone had this to say,

Unlike the HDMI-only HT-CT100, the 500 supplements its three HDMI inputs with two component jacks and several audio inputs as well–and those analog inputs can be upconverted to HDMI output, so you’ll need just a single cable running to your TV.

The HT-CT500 also features 400-watt power and supports Sony’s 3.1ch S-Force PRO Front Surround technology. Additional details include a Wider Speaker, 3 HDMI ports, Dolby Digital, FM Tuner, and Walkman interface.
The HT-CT500 will hit stores in June of 2009 for around $500.
